The Market Closing Bell with John Sheely
Monday - Friday 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Mr. Sheely has traded the commodity markets for almost 30 years, both as a registered trading advisor and as a proprietary trader for several premier trading firms. He was first introduced to commodities in 1980 when he served as general counsel and attorney to a small oil company in Houston, Texas.
Based upon several years of success, John started Pinnacle Trading Company, Inc. and registered as a commodity trading advisor. Pinnacle began managing funds in 1987 and, during the life of that firm, managed more than $50,000,000 while trading funds established by Dean Witter, Merrill Lynch, and other high profile firms. He again did very well as a money manager and ultimately closed Pinnacle Trading Company in 1995 as he and his wife Debra started their family.
During his hiatus as a fund manager, John became fascinated by the rise of the impact of the quantitative funds on the commodity markets. As a professional trader, he knew the major impact these funds and fund managers were having on the markets in the short term. He realized that, if a trader was to succeed in the future, the trader had to know when, why, and how these quantitative models and systems were entering and exiting the markets. It was this field that became his new dedication.
Because John had some programming ability, John made it his mission to understand price, as much as any firm or quantitative analyst in the industry. For the next 5 years, John voraciously read about every trading methodology that was known to the public. He programmed and back-tested trading methodologies, technical indicators, and chart patterns. You name it he tested it. The end result was a deep understanding of how these mega funds and quantitative models saw the markets. He had a very good idea of when these models would be coming and going in the commodity markets. Now it was time to apply this research and dedication in real time. John had that opportunity in 2001 when he joined Duke Energy as a proprietary trader. Although he had immediate success, the Enron affair closed that chapter of his career. However, this was also the time in which stock day trading began to explode in popularity. Stocks were being traded as if they were commodities and most trading decisions were being made based upon price action alone. This was precisely John's expertise. John quickly began to trade actively in the stock or commodity markets and found that the new era of technical analysis and quantitative research were a perfect marriage. He developed several trading courses incorporating the latest techniques and discoveries in technical research and now offers his insights and trading experience to the valued listeners of the BizRadio Network.

The MoneyMan - Daniel Frishberg
Monday - Friday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
"Somehow even very smart people get the idea money decisions operate under different rules. They don't!"
Dan Frishberg grew up in New York, spending as much time on Wall Street as he could. He ran errands, he ran for coffee, he did whatever he could to assure as much time around the traders at the exchange as possible. He learned enough to know he wanted to learn more, so after a stint in the Marines, he took advantage of a scholarship to New York University.
Dan has spent over 40 years studying money and the markets; especially the people who make up those markets. His life's work has been to strip away all the jargon and finance babble. He talks about money in a unique language: plain English.
